Grizzly image sequence
February 9, 2015 was a snowy day in an unseasonably warm winter. At about 4:00 pm a grizzly bear was spotted from a Xanterra Bambardier despite a raging snowstorm near Haydon Valley just south of Mud Volcano along the Yellowstone River. In this sequence you will be able to make out two wolves that approach a black lump in the snow and the black lump moves and waves them off. The black lump is a grizzly bear that has come out of hibernation due to the protracted warm weather. It can be seen sliding down the slight incline on its back with legs in the air. It then goes to a carcass that has been exposed by the warm weather and begins to eat.
